The ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND 2024 CS Asia Open concluded with a thrilling finale in Shanghai, where "XO eSports" from the Middle East emerged as the champions. Their victory marked a historic achievement as they claimed the top spot in Asian Counter-Strike, demonstrating extraordinary skill, teamwork, and strategic brilliance throughout the competition.
This year's tournament brought together 16 elite teams from across Asia, each earning their spot through intense local qualifiers held over three months. The event highlighted the growing competitiveness in the region, particularly from Asia-Pacific powerhouse teams. However, XO eSports stood out, captivating fans and overcoming formidable opponents to claim the title in one of the most anticipated esports battles of the year.
In the grand finals, XO faced ATOX in a best-of-three series. The first map, Inferno, saw ATOX secure an early lead with a pistol-round win, but XO quickly turned the tide with a flawless seven-round streak, leading 8-4 at halftime. Despite ATOX’s second-half resurgence, 0SAMAS delivered a critical quad kill during a force-buy round, helping XO close out the map 13-9.
On the second map, Anubis, XO maintained their momentum. SENPAI’s pistol ace gave them a strong defensive start, resulting in another 8-4 halftime lead. ATOX attempted a comeback with a force-buy win in the second half, but Dodal's clutch plays under pressure secured match point. XO sealed the map 13-10, clinching the championship and etching their names into esports history as the undisputed champions of the ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND 2024 CS Asia Open.
