Xiaomi Launches Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11 Lite 5G, and More

Xiaomi has launched new additions to its Mi 11 lineup, including the photography-centric Mi 11 Ultra and Snapdragon 780G-debuting Mi 11 Lite 5G, as well as some lifestyle additions. Here’s a rundown of the devices:

Mi 11 Ultra

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 888-powered Mi 11 Ultra marks the debut of Samsung’s GN2 large camera sensor, which was announced in February, and sports a rear setup composed entirely of so-called main cameras. The triple-camera setup consists of the aforementioned GN2 as primary camera, a 48MP periscope lens with 5x optical zoom, and a 48MP ultra-wide angle camera. All three cameras support 8K 24fps video, while the main camera supports Staggered-HDR in addition. For the front, the phone has a 20MP in-display selfie camera.

Outside of cameras, the phone sports a 6.81-inch WQHD+ Samsung AMOLED quad-curved DotDisplay made with E4 material. The display has a 120Hz refresh rate, 480Hz touch sampling rate, 1,700 nits peak brightness, and a 3200x1440 resolution, as well as Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support. It has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus for protection. The back of the phone also has a small display of its own, which displays information like notifications and time as well as doubling as a selfie mirror.


The Mi 11 Ultra packs a 5,000mAh battery with 67W wired and wireless turbo charging as well as 10W reverse charging. For storage, it comes with 12GB LPDDR5 +256GB UFS 3.1. Additionally, the phone serves as the debut for Xiaomi’s three-phase cooling technology, which features “a macromolecular phase change material that boasts higher efficiency and better wrap-around properties” that increases thermal conductivity performance by 100% according to Xiaomi. The phone also has Wi-Fi 6 support and Wi-Fi 6E depending on region.


The phone has a recommended retail price of EUR1,199 (~RM5,851) and will be available in Malaysia at “a later date”.


Mi 11 Lite 5G and Mi 11 Lite

The Mi 11 Lite 5G and Mi 11 Lite feature a weight of 159g and a thickness of 6.81mm and have a 6.55-inch AMOLED DotDisplay with a 90Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. They also have DCI-P3 color gamut, support for 10-bit TrueColor. And HDR10+, with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 respectively for protection.


Both phones have a triple rear camera setup with a 64MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide angle camera, and 5Mp telemacro camera. For the front punch hole camera, the Mi 11 Lite 5G has a 20MP camera while the non-5G version has a 16MP camera.


Both phones pack a 4,250mAh battery with 33W fast-charging inside, but the 5G version is powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 780G 5G, while the regular Mi 11 Lite has the Snapdragon 732G. Another difference is that the 5G version has Wi-Fi 6 support. For colours, the Mi 11 Lite 5G has Truffle Black, Mint Green, and Citrus Yellow, while the Mi 11 Lite offers Boba Black, Bubblegum Blue, and Peach Pink.


The Mi 11 Lite will be available in Malaysia from April 6 at RM1,199 with an 8GB+128GB configuration. The first 500 buyers to purchase the phone at selected Authorized Mi Stores will also receive free gifts like the Mi Watch Lite while stocks last. As for the Mi 11 Lite 5G, it will have a recommended price of EUR369 (~RM1,800) and will have 6GB+128GB and 8GB+128GB variants.

Mi 11i

Packing a Snapdragon 888 and featuring Wi-Fi 6 support, the 7.88mm Mi 11i has a 6.67-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz maximum touch sampling rate. The display also sports a peak brightness of 1,300 nits, DCI-P3 colour gamut, and HDR10+ support. Xiaomi also says that the phone boasts an A+ rating in DisplayMate tests due to its JNCD≈0.36 and ΔE≈0.35 colour accuracies.

For cameras, the Mi 11i has a 108MP HD main camera, 8MP ultra-wide angle camera, and a 6MP telemacro camera on the rear, while the front has a 20MP small punch hole camera. Inside, it has a 4,520mAh battery with 33W fast charging. Other features include an X-linear motor, IR blaster, NFC support, and light sensors on the front and back of its body.

The phone has Celestial Silver, Frosty White, and Cosmic Black colours to choose from, and has 8GB+128GB at EUR649 (~RM3,166) and a region-dependent 8GB+256GB configuration at EUR699 (~RM3,410). It will be available in Malaysia at a later date.


Mi Smart Band 6

The Mi Smart Band 6 has a 1.56’’AMOLED touch display with 326PPI resolution and support for customizable band faces. For fitness modes, there are 30 workout types including gymnastics, stretching, and Zumba. It also has auto-detection for six “common fitness activities”.


The smart watch also has SpO2 measurement, heart rate monitoring, and enhanced sleep tracking to monitor naps and sleep cycles, along with REM and sleep breathing quality. It also has stress monitoring, a deep breathing guidance function, and female health tracking.


The Mi Smart Band 6 is said to provide 14 days of battery life and comes with a magnetic port for clip-on and clip-off charging. It also has 5 ATM water resistance certification and six colour choices for its straps. It will be available here at a later date and has a recommended retail price of EUR44.99 (~RM219).


Mi Smart Projector 2 Pro

Finally, the Mi Smart Projector 2 Pro home cinema system sports a 60-inch to 120-inch screen size with 1080p quality. Other display features include a 1,300 ANSI lumens brightness as a result of its DMD chip and HDR10. It also has omni-directional keystone correction, a ToF sensor, and camera focus.

For speakers, it has built-in 10W speakers with dual tweeters and dual full-range woofers. The Smart Projector 2 PRO also has DTS-HD and Dolby Audio support and has Bluetooth support.


The Mi Smart Projector 2 Pro runs on Android TV and comes pre-installed with Netflix. It has a recommended retail price of EUR999 (~RM4,871) and an early bird price that starts from EUR899 (~RM4,384). The home cinema system will be available here at a later date.
