The Legend of Zelda Movie is under development
Giant Freakin Robot has reported that Illumination, the studio behind Super Mario Bros. Movie is also developing an animated series for The Legend of Zelda. Unfortunately, it is still too hard to tell what the plot of The Legend of Zelda movie will be. Similarly, there is no information on the film's cast.
So far, the only cinematic adaptation of The Legend of Zelda was the 13-episode American animated series in 1989. Though, this information should be taken with a grain of salt as Nintendo & Illumination have not released an official statement regarding The Legend of Zelda movie adaptation.
Moreover, there is a total of 19 main Legend of Zelda video games released, where The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, a sequel to The Legends of Zelda: Breath of the Wild would be the latest entry to the series which will be launching on May 12, 2023.
