Wireless earbuds have become an integral part of our everyday lives when it comes to listening to music, whether it's commuting to work or travelling abroad. Thus, with that in mind, SONICGEAR has unveiled two new wireless earbuds for consumers, the SONICGEAR TWS Q1 ANC and the SONICGEAR TWS Q3 ANC. In this review article, I will be looking into the design, sound quality and performance of these wireless earbuds.
Design
The SonicGear TWS Q1 ANC and TWS Q3 ANC comes with a compact and lightweight design, and with this, both models are perfect for on-the-go use. The TWS Q1 ANC comes with a glossy finish, while the TWS Q3 ANC comes with a matte surface.

Another similarity that these two earbuds share is that they both come with IPX 4 Splash Proof. With this, users will need not worry about these earbuds getting hit by sweat or rain. So, for those of you who enjoy working out, then there is no need to worry when using either the SonicGear TWS Q1 ANC and TWS Q3 ANC.
Furthermore, SonicGear also built these wireless earbuds with comfortability in mind as the TWS Q3 ANC boasts an ergonomic in-ear design in order to provide users for a smoother and more comfortable fit, ensuring comfort even during prolonged journeys.
Meanwhile, when addressing the casings for both of the earbuds, they come with the same coating as their respective earbuds. When charging the casing, you will be able to see a small white light at the bottom, which indicates the battery life of the earbuds and the casing itself. Both of these ANC earbuds are available in black and white colour options, allowing consumers to select which colour would fit them best.

Sound Quality
When it comes to the sound performance of these earbuds, both the TWS Q1 ANC and TWS Q3 ANC are able to deliver good sound quality, especially when considering their price range. The TWS Q1 ANC comes with a 10mm Dynamic Driver while the QWS Q3 ANC features a larger 13mm Dynamic Driver, and as a result, the Q3 feels like it produces better sound quality due to a more powerful and richer bass.
Moreover, you’ll also be able to use these earbuds for gaming as well, as both of them come with a 60ms low latency while gaming, ensuring that you will be able to get a pleasant audio experience even while you’re gaming.
Furthermore, as suggested in its name, both earbuds come with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). With this feature turned on, all unwanted ambient noises will be filtered out, allowing you to enjoy decent audio quality while commuting back home or even while travelling on a flight. In addition to this, both ANC earbuds also come with an Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) which helps to reduce unwanted noise while also enhancing the human voice. This is especially effective for those who often have calls or join meetings on their mobile device.
Connectivity
In terms of connectivity, both the SonicGear TWS Q1 ANC & TWS Q3 ANC come with Bluetooth 5.4 Technology built inside of it which not only comes with outstanding Bluetooth range for easier and faster connectivity, but it also ensures that there will be low power consumption even when connected.
Battery
The battery performance for both earbuds is quite impressive as the TWS Q1 ANC offers up to 4 hours of continuous playback with only a single charge even when ANC is enabled. The total playback time can be extended to around 16 hours when combined with the charging case.
On the other hand, the TWS Q3 ANC surpasses the Q1 in battery life as it is able to offer up to 6 hours of playback on a single charge, with the charging case providing an additional 18 hours of playback, which brings the total usage to an impressive 24 hours.
I decided to test the battery life of each earbud, listening to music for a whole hour at 100% volume. The results showed that 20% of the Q1’s battery was consumed while 10% of the Q3’s battery was consumed in that duration of time.

Both earbuds are able to last through most daily listening needs, though it’s safe to say that the TWS Q3 ANC is better suited for those who need a longer battery life or for prolonged usage.
Verdict
In conclusion, both the SonicGear TWS Q1 ANC and TWS Q3 ANC are definitely worth considering, especially for those looking to get budget earbuds. While the two share similar features such as ANC and ENC, they also come with several differences. The Q3 offers a richer bass, comes in a more ergonomic design and has a much better battery life compared to the Q1. Ultimately, for those who are casual listeners then the Q1 is a better choice, while the Q3 is better suited for those who prefer enhanced sound quality and for prolonged usage. Priced at RM79 and RM89 respectively, I would definitely recommend the SonicGear TWS Q1 ANC and TWS Q3 ANC for those looking to get budget earbuds.
