Design

The ASUS Vivobook S 14 OLED truly stands out compared to its competitors with its striking tough metal design, making a bold statement in terms of aesthetics. The laptop’s design effortlessly embodies the definition of simplicity and sophistication, with its logo engraved onto the cover of the laptop via CNC milling. Furthermore, the laptop has a thin, sleek design of only 1.39 cm while only weighing a total of 1.3 kg, making it extremely convenient to carry around with you anywhere.

Overall, the design of the ASUS Vivobook S 14 OLED is very simple, yet incredible at the same time. The laptop even has two colour options for you to choose from such as: Mist Blue and Natural Black.

Display

As per its namesake, the ASUS Vivobook S 14 OLED is a 14-inch laptop with an aspect ratio of 16:10 with 60Hz, which is an incredible feat! In addition to its already impressive display, the colours that are presented on the screen are extremely vivid and spot-on. This is due to the ASUS Vivobook S 14 OLED has 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut and is PANTONE validated. The laptop also features a 6mm bezel and an 87% screen-to-body ratio allowing it to have slim bezels for a wider screen to display more of the action.

Keyboard

Want a way to showcase your uniqueness? Well, with the new ASUS Vivobook S 14 OLED, the laptop comes with an RGB backlit keyboard, allowing you to use the lighting effects in order to fit your personality and mood. With the Windows Dynamic Lighting, you’ll be able to adjust several variables to make your keyboard stand out.

Connectivity

The ASUS Vivobook S 14 OLED provides a good selection of ports for connectivity. It comes with two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports , which can be used for charging as well as transferring data at high speeds. There are also two USB 3.2 Type-A Gen 1 ports and a HDMI 2.1 TMDS port for connecting monitors.

Performance

Powering this innovative design is the incredible up-to Intel® Core™ Ultra 7 Processor 155H 1.4 GHz, meaning that it’ll be able to handle even the most demanding of tasks with relative ease. Also, with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x memory, your applications will run smoothly at a faster rate as well.

In addition to this, we also ran several tests on the Vivobook S14 OLED, to see if it would be able to handle demanding workloads. In Geekbench 6, it had a decent score of 2182 points in Single-core score mode and 11414 points in Multi-core mode.

Meanwhile, when using PCMark 10 benchmark, an application which is used to thoroughly evaluate how well your computer handles everyday office tasks, the Vivobook S14 OLED had a score of 6615. This showcases that this laptop would be able to handle most everyday tasks with ease.

While the Vivobook S14 OLED isn’t a gaming laptop, it can still be used to handle gaming well thanks to the Intel® Arc™ Graphic that is built into the laptop. Furthermore, a test was conducted using the Time Spy Score as a benchmark where a high-intensity game, such as Grand Theft Auto was tested to see if it could run smoothly on the laptop. The result showed that even when running the game at 1080p Ultra, the game is estimated to be able to consistently run at 150+ FPS.

Whether you’re at work with plenty of multitasking required or a content creator who’s working on a bunch of tasks, I can assure you that the ASUS Vivobook S 14 OLED will be able to stand up to the task.

Battery Life

For the ASUS Vivobook S 14 OLED, you’ll be able to charge your laptop more conveniently with the USB-C® Easy Charge support, as this will allow you to charge your laptop with any USB-C chargers, including power banks, within a voltage range of 5-20V.

AI Features

With the all new processors built into the laptop, the Vivobook S 14 OLED is also equipped with several AI features including Copilot, Paint, Snipping Tool, Photos and Clipchamp. With these new AI features, it’s almost as if having an assistant by your side, as you’d be able to find answers and inspirations with a single click of a button with the Copilot feature.

Furthermore, with the Integrated Snipping Tool feature, the AI will be able to detect the text in your screenshot, and by doing so, will allow you to be able to copy and redact the text from the image itself.

Verdict

The ASUS Vivobook S 14 OLED isn’t just some standard laptop that you can get anywhere, it’s a product that is certain to be able to assist in your work.  Although it may seem a little pricey at RM4,399, I can assure you that with its stunning displays, how little it weighs and powerful performance, this laptop is definitely worth every single penny.
