PUBG MOBILE Is Announced as a Medalled Event at the 2022 Asian Games

PUBG MOBILE will be joining 7 other games as an event in the official esports programme in the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. The event will be held from 10 -22 September 200, seeing participants battling out for gold on the PUBG MOBILE Asian Games Version.

Held every 4 years, the Asian Games is the second-largest event of its kind, behind only the Olympics. The event first paved the way for esports with its inclusion as a demonstration sport in 2018. In 2022, esports will be part of the official programme and a medalled event. Besides PUBG MOBILE, the 7 games that will also join the Asian Games are Arena of Valor Asian Games Version, DOTA 2, Dream Three Kingdoms 2, EA SPORTS FIFA branded soccer

games, Hearthstone, League of Legends, and Street Fighter V.


As one of the largest and most accessible esports programmes in the world, PUBG MOBILE's esports circuit has seen a huge growth in 2021 with 14 new leagues and a total prize pool of US$15,000,000 (~RM62,332,500), the highest in the mobile esports history. The game's inclusion in the 2022 Asian Games shows its further growth as one of the most popular mobile esports games.
