A new Nintendo Switch model with a 7-inch OLED screen has been officially announced with an October 8 launch date.
The Nintendo Switch (OLED model) has an SRP of $349.99 (~RM1,456) versus the regular Switch’s $299.99 (~RM1,248). The OLED model comes with a starting storage size of 64GB, up from 32GB. It’s also heavier at around .71 lbs instead of .66 Ibs.
Battery life, however, is listed as being the same as the regular Switch, which is around 4.5 to 9 hours.
Nintendo says that the OLED model will feature “a wide adjustable stand, a new dock with a wired LAN port”, and “enhanced audio”. Joy-Cons for the regular Switch are compatible with the new model.
The Nintendo Switch (OLED model) will come in a new colour - white, as well as the classic neon red/neon blue option. The former has white Joy-Cons and a white dock, while the latter has neon red and neon blue Joy-Cons along with a black dock. Both main units are black.
A carrying case and screen protector will also be sold.
