MOONTON Games has announced that Magic Chess: Go Go (MCGG) will officially launch in the APAC region on February 21, 2025. The free-to-play multiplayer strategy game will be available on iOS and Android in Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.
Previously soft-launched in Malaysia and Singapore on November 29, 2024, MCGG is developed by the team behind Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB). Set in the MLBB universe, it offers an auto-battler experience, where players control MLBB Heroes like Layla, Nana, and Chou in an eight-player PvP battle, strategizing to be the last one standing.
With over 15 million pre-registrations, MCGG is shaping up to be one of 2025’s most anticipated mobile games.

Gao "Skyhook" Chong, MCGG Producer at MOONTON Games, explained that in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) lore, MCGG is a popular game within the Land of Dawn, created by a mysterious designer. Its Commanders, Go Go Cards, and Synergies are inspired by the heroes and legends of the MLBB universe. With the APAC Grand Launch, the game is expanding beyond its fictional roots, bringing players a new competitive experience set in MLBB’s rich and immersive world.
Season 1 "Rising Dawn"
Season 1 of MCGG—named "Rising Dawn"—will offer players a host of free and exclusive rewards. Players can receive 14 Commanders (1-Star), the "Ruins of Fall" Chessboard Skin, and skins—such as the "Plasma Gunner" Commander Layla Skin—for FREE simply by playing MCGG. MLBB players can also claim the free X.Borg "Pecados Rioter" skin in MLBB by linking their accounts and completing missions in MCGG.

Each MCGG season will introduce new gameplay mechanics to keep the experience fresh. The first season, launching in March, will feature a Two-Player Mode, where players team up in duos to battle others. Strategic cooperation is key, as each player can send a 1-star Hero to support their partner, and the team’s ranking will be based on the higher-ranked player.
Additionally, each season will bring MLBB Heroes into MCGG as Commanders. Season 1 will introduce Miya, the Moonlight Archer, MLBB’s first-ever Hero.

100% Asset Conversion For Magic Chess Veterans
As part of the Gratitude Event, veteran players of Magic Chess—the arcade mode in MLBB that inspired MCGG—will have their inventories converted at full value into MCGG currency, including Golden Diamonds, Gift Tickets, and Passes. These can be used in the MCGG Shop to obtain Commanders and skins, with the shop remaining permanently available and regularly updated.

Gao "Skyhook" Chong emphasized that MCGG is the result of years of development and testing, but the APAC Grand Launch is just the beginning. The team plans to introduce exciting new content, including highly anticipated esports tournaments, in the coming months.
