Lenovo Legion 5 Pro and Legion 5 AMD Available for Pre-Order in Malaysia

The Lenovo Legion 5 Pro and Legion 5 AMD are now available for pre-order in Malaysia, with Lenovo Malaysia including a promotion deal for the laptops.


But first, a quick run-through of the laptops. While Lenovo doesn’t attach “AMD” to its name, the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro is armed with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H as its processor, while it has an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 for its GPU. For its screen, the laptop comes with a 16-inch IPS display with a 165Hz refresh rate, 100% sRGB and Dolby Vision support.

The Legion 5 Pro also features Lenovo’s AI Engine and Dual Burn support which “pushes the CPU and GPU together” to get better framerate performance, as well as the Lenovo Legion Coldfront 3.0 with its “multiple thermal sensors, turbo-charged dual fan designs and a quad channel ventilation system”. In addition, it has the Lenovo Legion TrueStrike Keyboard with soft-landing switches and Nahimic Audio.


The laptop has 2x 8GB SO-DIMM DDR4-3200 for its RAM and supports up to 32GB. For storage, it has a 1TB M.2 2280 PCIe 3.0x4 NVMe SSD and supports up to two M.2 SSD drives (one 2280 and one 2242). Port-wise, the Legion 5 Pro has a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port (Power Delivery and DisplayPort 1.4), a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (DisplayPort 1.4), a HDMI 2.1 port, and four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports (with one being Always On).

As for the Legion 5 AMD, it also has a Ryzen 7 5800H to power it, while its GPU is an RTX 3060. It has a smaller 15.6-inch screen, but like the Legion 5 Pro, it has a 165Hz refresh rate and 100% sRGB. Other features that it shares with the Legion 5 Pro include Lenovo’s AI Engine and Dual Burn support, Lenovo Legion Coldfront 3.0, the Legion TrueStrike Keyboard, and Nahimic Audio.


Also like the Legion 5 Pro, the Legion 5 AMD has 2x 8GB SO-DIMM DDR4-3200 for its RAM and supports up to 32GB. The Legion 5 Pro has a starting price of RM6,799, while the Legion 5 AMD has a starting price of RM6,099. Lenovo’s promotion deal for the laptops involves giving away free gifts including the TTRacing Surge Gaming Chair, Legion merchandise, and RM200 worth of Steam Wallet Vouchers to those who buy the laptops from participating authorised Lenovo sellers, with the promotion lasting until April 18. The participating sellers include Lenovo’s official Lazada and Shopee stores, its e-Exclusive Store (Lazada NBP and Shopee TMT), and NVIDIA’s official Lazada store.
