Bungie has announced in a blog post that Keith David will be filling the role of Captain Zavala in Destiny 2 following the passing of Lance Reddick. Keith David is a well-known actor for his roles in The Thing, and They Live.
Keith David will be performing the English-language voice for Zavala with Destiny 2 upcoming expansion "The Final Shape" and more to come in the future. As for Lance Reddick's existing lines "will remain untouched for the upcoming release."
"I am honored to continue the great work of Lance Reddick as Zavala. Lance captured the character's sense of integrity so wonderfully. It is my intention to continue that work," said Keith David.
Bungie is pleased to maintain the ongoing partnership with Keith during the days of Halo and the team is excited about the contributions he makes in the role of Commander. Bungie added, "we will always remain respectful to the role Zavala has played thus far, and look forward to the journey ahead."
