According to Pete Lau, OPPO's SVP and Chief Product Officer, OPPO, a global leader in smart devices, has unveiled the Find X8 Ultra — its most advanced camera phone yet. Featuring the Next-Gen Penta Camera System and HyperTone Image Engine co-developed with Hasselblad, the Find X8 Ultra redefines mobile photography standards.
Next-Gen Penta Camera System
Building on the impressive camera system of the Find X7 Ultra, the new Find X8 Ultra introduces the Next-Gen Penta Camera System, co-engineered with Hasselblad. It boasts five high-performance rear cameras: a 50MP ultra-wide, a 50MP wide with a 1-inch sensor, two advanced 50MP periscope telephoto lenses with improved light sensitivity, and a unique True Chroma Camera for more accurate color reproduction.
1-inch Wide Camera
The Find X8 Ultra retains the powerful Sony LYT-900 1-inch sensor—the largest and most advanced in a smartphone—now paired with an enhanced 8-element lens that includes high refractive index glass to reduce chromatic aberration. With a wide f/1.8 aperture and OPPO’s custom OIS technology, its wide camera offers image quality on par with compact cameras.
3x Periscope Telephoto Camera with Telemacro
The exceptional image quality is also evident in the 50MP 3x periscope camera. With an upgraded 1/1.56-inch Sony LYT-700 sensor, a faster f/2.1 aperture and OPPO's exclusive "Super Blue Glass" that further minimizes glare and ghosting, Find X8 Ultra captures over 400% more light than the 3x telephoto camera from the competitor.
By employing a floating lens, Find X8 Ultra's 3x periscope zoom enables a minimum focus distance of just 10cm, unlocking new telemacro photography possibilities.
6x Periscope Telephoto Camera with 151% More Light Intake
Utilizing OPPO's exclusive Triple Prism Periscope structure, the 6x telephoto camera features a larger 1/1.95-inch Sony LYT-600 sensor and a faster f/3.1 aperture, increasing light intake by 151% for exceptional zoom quality in challenging lighting conditions.
True Chroma Camera, Recording True Colors
Complementing Find X8 Ultra’s powerful camera system is an all-new True Chroma Camera, a 9-channel multispectral system with 2 million spectral pixels.
It divides images into a 6x8 grid, recording the color temperature of each region separately, enabling more accurate white balance processing. This ensures precise retention of warm and cool color areas, resulting in true-to-life and detailed color reproduction.
The “Holy Trinity” in Your Pocket
With four 50MP cameras spanning 0.6x, 1x, 3x, and 6x, combined with AI-enhanced zoom and the exclusive True Chroma Camera, Find X8 Ultra captures high-quality stills with consistent color reproduction from 0.6x to 12x and beyond, bringing the 'Holy Trinity' of lenses to a smartphone for the first time.
A New Era for Pro Photography
Building on the Next-Gen Penta Camera System, Find X8 Ultra changes the game for smartphone photography, unlocking new realms of creative freedom.
Next-Gen HyperTone Image Engine
The Find X8 Ultra is powered by OPPO’s Next-Gen HyperTone Image Engine, a cutting-edge computational photography system optimized for challenging lighting conditions. It uses AI tone mapping to enhance depth and detail, especially in high-dynamic range portraits, while the upgraded ProXDR technology boosts brightness and color accuracy with four times more data. Additionally, a new Hi-Res mode allows users to easily capture 25MP photos across all four rear cameras.
Hasselblad Portrait Mode, Night Portrait Master
Hasselblad Portrait Mode on the Find X8 Ultra offers precise subject detection and cinematic bokeh, replicating the look of classic Hasselblad lenses. Now enhanced with continuous zoom from 1x to 6x, it lets users effortlessly find the perfect framing while maintaining authentic bokeh effects. Thanks to the True Chroma Camera, it excels in complex night lighting, preserving the atmosphere and natural skin tones with stunning accuracy—surpassing traditional cameras. The Find X8 Ultra sets a new standard for night portrait photography.
Master Mode, Pro Control
Master Mode, introduced with Find X7 Ultra and calibrated to emulate the Hasselblad X2D 100C, quickly became a photographer favorite.
With Find X8 Ultra, Master Mode received a significant update. It now offers 50MP JPEG MAX and RAW MAX output, auto Night Mode support, and includes Focus Magnifier and Focus Peaking for enhanced precision. Additionally, 15 built-in presets have been added, fostering creative expression. Users can also fine-tune and create custom presets to better match their style.
Up to 4K 120fps Dolby Vision Video
Both the four 50MP rear cameras and the front camera on Find X8 Ultra support 4K 60fps Dolby Vision video recording. The 1x and 3x cameras extend this capability with 4K 120fps, providing enhanced creative control for capturing smooth slow-motion footage in stunning detail.
The Thinnest Camera Phone
The Find X8 Ultra redefines ultra-tier camera phones with a sleek 8.78mm profile—making it the thinnest in its category, thanks to OPPO’s internal design innovations. Built for professional creators, it features a 6.82-inch flat QHD display with symmetrical bezels and exceptional durability, including IP68/IP69 water and dust resistance and SGS five-star drop protection.
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite platform, it offers up to 16GB LPDDR5X-9600 RAM and 1TB UFS 4.1 storage, delivering seamless performance for intensive tasks like 4K HDR video editing and high-end gaming.
Its 6100mAh Silicon-Carbon Battery ensures all-day productivity, with ultra-fast 100W SUPERVOOC™ charging for a full recharge in under 40 minutes, and 50W AIRVOOC™ wireless charging for added convenience.
Find X8s, X8s+, and New IoT Devices
OPPO has launched the Find X8s and X8s+ in China alongside the Find X8 Ultra. The Find X8s debuts as a compact flagship with a 6.3-inch display, triple 50MP cameras, and a 5700mAh battery. The X8s+ enhances the original X8 with new colors and a larger 6000mAh battery. Both phones feature the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chip and OPPO’s Trinity Engine for improved performance.
OPPO also introduced two flagship IoT devices: the Watch X2 Mini, a smaller luxury smartwatch, and the Pad 4 Pro, a 13.2-inch tablet powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite platform.
