After a rough couple of weeks in April due to delays, it seems that HoYoverse has gotten back on track and starting with version 2.7 will be back on schedule. Version 2.7 is expected to start May 31. It will then run for six weeks with version 2.8 scheduled to be released on July 13 according to the official Genshin Impact Twitter account.
During the live stream from HoYoverse, they went through the content that will be coming in 2.7. The upcoming storyline for the game will be called “Hidden Dreams in the Depths”, going by that name we have to assume that the Traveler and Paimon will be spending most of this content in a valley or underground compared to the wide open spaces of the previous areas of the game.
Players will be joined by Yelan, the new 5-star Hydro bow user, and Kuki Shinobu, the 4-star Electro character from Inazuma. Their banners with boosted rates will be available in two phases, each running for three weeks. Phase 1 will consist of two banners: Discerner of Enigmas, featuring Yelan, and Invitation to Mundane Life, which has Xiao. Phase 2 will just have Oni’s Royale banner which will include both Arataki Itto and Kuki Shinobu as the latter is a four-star.
The rest of the stream showed some of the new events that will happen down the line, one is a combat challenge called Perilous Trail, The Almighty Arataki Great and Glorious Drumalong Festival which will even include a rhythm game hosted by the Arataki Gang, and many more.
