Dune: Awakening™, a multiplayer survival game inspired by Frank Herbert’s novel and Legendary Entertainment’s films, launches on May 20th. Funcom® has announced that pre-orders are now open, with Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate Editions available on Steam. The Ultimate Edition includes a 90-minute digital soundtrack. To celebrate, Funcom has released a behind-the-scenes look at the game's music, showcasing composer Knut Avenstroup Haugen and a live orchestra at AIR Lyndhurst studio in London.

Business Model and Post-Launch Plans
To make sure gamers have all the relevant information before making a purchase decision, Dune: Awakening’s Creative Director, Joel Bylos, appeared on video to explain the game’s business model and post-launch plans.
In short, when Dune: Awakening launches on May 20th:
It will not be in Early Access, this is the full launch
It will not have a subscription
The game will continue to be expanded through free updates with content and features
It will follow a classic business model of optional DLCs
Funcom has a strong track record in developing and supporting live games, with titles like Anarchy Online (approaching its 25th anniversary) and Conan Exiles®, which continues to receive updates after eight years. Dune: Awakening will follow suit, expanding with free updates that introduce new content, features, and improvements.
Game Editions
Dune: Awakening’s standard edition is priced at $49.99, with the Deluxe Edition ($69.99) and Ultimate Edition ($89.99) both offering players a 5-day head start and several unique items. Available as part of the Deluxe Edition and Ultimate Edition, Dune: Awakening also features a Season Pass that will unlock four DLCs over time, with the first unlocking at launch.

The Deluxe Edition includes the Sardaukar armor, worn by the elite military force hunting players in the game. The Ultimate Edition adds Paul Atreides’ stillsuit from the 2021 film, a digital artbook, soundtrack, exclusive color patterns, and the Caladan Palace Set with themed building pieces and decorations.
All pre-orders, including the Standard Edition, come with a universal color pattern for vehicles, weapons, and armor, along with the Terrarium of Muad’Dib, an in-base decoration featuring the iconic desert mouse.

PC Features and System Requirements
At launch, Dune: Awakening will showcase advanced technology, including NVIDIA DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation for stunning visuals and top-tier performance. It will also support AMD FSR and Intel XeSS 2 for optimized gameplay.
For deeper immersion, the game integrates Razer Chroma RGB and Razer Sensa HD Haptics, allowing players to experience Arrakis’ atmosphere dynamically. Features like the Freyja Gaming Cushion enhance the experience by simulating the rumble of an ornithopter's seat. Funcom has also unveiled the game's system requirements.

On March 25th at 1:00 AM Malaysian Time (MYT), players can tune in to a special livestream featuring senior developers playing Dune: Awakening live, answering community questions, and discussing the latest announcements.
The stream will include award-winning composer Knut Avenstroup Haugen, who will talk about the game's music, and World Director Jean-François Gagné, who will showcase the vast open world of Arrakis. Hosted by Senior PR Manager Natascha Röösli, the event will be streamed on Funcom’s Twitch channel and Steam.
