In addition to the release of two new AI gaming laptops, ASUS also released that they will be launching the new ROG Ally X, a handheld game console in Malaysia! This handheld console is designed for Windows 11 gaming on the go, and the ROG Ally X features AMD Ryzen™ Z1 Extreme processor and it also comes with upgraded storage, RAM and battery life as well as updated chassis for ergonomics and cooling.
More storage, faster RAM, and longer battery life
The ROG Ally X amps its internal components as it comes with a 1 TB SSD to allow the user to store more games as well as a redesigned motherboard featuring an M.2 2280 form factor slot, allowing users to easily upgrade their storage to larger drives than previously possible. It also comes with 24 GB of LPDDR5X-7500 RAM for more flexibility, allocating more memory to the system and GPU.
The ROG Ally X has also increased its battery capacity, doubling to 80Wh. Yet, despite the increase in battery life, the console only weighs only at 678grams, ensuring easier portability and comfortability.
Updated controls and connectivity
The ROG Ally X features a redesigned chassis in a brand-new black colorway, and the button and sticks are arranged in an ergonomic angle for easier accessibility. The joysticks have been replaced with new, more durable modules with the D-Pad improved with more precise eight-direction input. Users overwhelmingly requested more universal I/O, so the original XG Mobile port has been replaced with two USB-C® ports on the ROG Ally X, one of which is Thunderbolt™-compatible for wide interoperability with third-party docks and external GPUs.
Improved thermals all around
In order to accommodate the new battery, the ROG Ally X features new fans that are 23% smaller and with 50% thinner fan blades, both of which helps to improve the airflow. It also features two new tunnels and a third exhaust vent on the upper edge of the laptop. This helps to provide 24% more air volume, also helping to keep the laptop cooler by 6°C for prolonged usage.

ROG Ally X (2024) will be priced officially at Malaysia for RM 4,299 along with pre-order promotion starting from 17th July to 31st July 2024.
