AMD’s A520 motherboard chipset is now out, with brands like Biostar and Gigabyte already listing their respective A520 motherboards. The A520 will be compatible with 3rd Gen Ryzen processors with Zen 2 architecture, and will be able to support future Zen 3 Ryzen processors as well.
However, AMD notes that it won’t work with the Ryzen 5 3400G and Ryzen 3 3200G. In addition, the A520 doesn’t have any PCIe 4.0 support. And as seen in this chart below (thanks, Guru3D), don't expect overclocking or dual graphics support from it either.
The A520’s general specifications include:
26x usable PCIe 3.0 lanes
Up to 5 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Ports (SuperSpeed 10Gbps)
Up to 2 native USB 3.1 Ports
Up to 6 native USB 2.0 Ports
Up to 4x SATA Ports
The currently available A520 motherboards include the ASROCK A520M Pro4, ASUS TUF GAMING A520M-PLUS, BIOSTAR A520MH, GIGABYTE A520 AORUS Elite, and MSI MAG A520M VECTOR WIFI. The A520 will be a budget product, with prices mostly being less than US$100 (~RM417) according to Wccftech.
