Acer has unveiled major updates to its Predator gaming laptops, including the flagship Predator Helios 16 AI and Helios 18 AI, along with a new addition to the Helios Neo series—the Predator Helios Neo 16S AI. The Neo 16S offers a slimmer design without compromising performance. These devices feature up to Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processors and next-gen NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs, which provide advanced AI and gaming capabilities. The GPUs, powered by NVIDIA Blackwell, enable faster image generation, enhanced graphics, and AI-driven creativity.
The Helios series also benefits from 6th Gen AeroBlade 3D fans, MagKey 4.0 mechanical switches, and refreshed designs with OLED and Mini LED displays. They come with three months of PC Game Pass, offering day-one titles like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Additionally, Acer introduced the Predator XB323QX monitor, featuring a 31.5-inch 5K display and NVIDIA G-SYNC Pulsar technology for superior visual quality.
According to James Lin, General Manager of Notebooks at Acer, Acer is pushing the limits of gaming with its latest Predator devices. He highlighted the company's commitment to innovation through the integration of cutting-edge silicon, the world's thinnest laptop cooling fan blades, and the sleek design of the Helios Neo laptops, all of which contribute to enhanced performance and immersive gaming experiences.
David Feng, Vice President at Intel, emphasized that the new Intel Core Ultra 200HX-series processors are designed to meet the performance and I/O demands of gaming enthusiasts while consuming less power. He also noted that, combined with Acer’s advanced system engineering, these processors power the new Predator devices, setting a new benchmark for gaming laptops.
Predator Helios 16 AI and Predator Helios 18 AI Gaming Laptops
Acer’s latest Predator laptops, the Helios 16 AI and Helios 18 AI, cater to gamers, tech enthusiasts, and early adopters looking for top-tier CPUs, GPUs, cooling systems, and displays. The Helios 16 AI combines performance and portability, ideal for gamers and professionals who need a powerful yet compact laptop for work and play. The larger Helios 18 AI offers desktop-level performance, a bigger screen, and superior immersive gaming experiences, making it perfect for hardcore gamers and tech-savvy users.
Both models feature Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processors with AI acceleration, up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 GPUs, and support for NVIDIA DLSS technologies, enabling enhanced gaming and AI performance. The RTX 5090 GPUs also optimize over 150 AI apps, including generative AI for visual and language tasks.
The Helios 16 AI offers up to 64 GB of memory and 4 TB of PCIe Gen 5 storage, while the Helios 18 AI can handle up to 192 GB of memory and 6 TB of storage. Both laptops include advanced cooling with 6th Gen AeroBlade 3D fans, liquid metal thermal grease, and vector heat pipes to ensure optimal temperatures.
The Helios 16 AI boasts a 240 Hz OLED WQXGA display, while the Helios 18 AI features a 4K Mini LED WQXGA display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 1000 nits brightness. Both support NVIDIA G-SYNC, Advanced Optimus, and MUX Switch technologies. The per-key RGB keyboards feature Acer's MagKey 4.0 switches for faster response times, and the new dynamic RGB lighting design enhances their gaming aesthetics.
The PredatorSense app allows users to control performance, fans, and lighting, while the Experience Zone offers AI-powered features like Acer PurifiedView™ 2.0 and Acer ProCam™ for automatic gameplay highlights. Both laptops deliver high-quality audio with DTS:X Ultra, four speakers on the Helios 16 AI, and six speakers on the Helios 18 AI. Connectivity is provided through Ethernet E5000B, Intel Killer Wi-Fi 7, and Thunderbolt 5 ports.
